About Cialis

As needed: typically 10 mg at least 30 minutes before sex, adjusted to 5–20 mg, at most once daily for most patients; response may last up to 36 hours. Daily ED labeling starts at 2.5 mg and may increase to 5 mg, though the current U.S. brand label lists marketed tablets of 5, 10 and 20 mg. Daily 5 mg also treats BPH symptoms. Meals do not affect absorption; sexual stimulation remains necessary. Common effects include headache, indigestion and back/muscle pain. Heavy alcohol use increases low-blood-pressure risk.

Prescription required in the U.S.; a clinician must assess suitability and choose the dose. Never combine with nitrates, nitrite 'poppers', or riociguat. Review heart health, kidney/liver disease, alpha-blockers, blood-pressure medicines and CYP3A4 interactions. Do not combine ED medicines. Get emergency care for an erection lasting over 4 hours; stop use and seek prompt care for sudden vision/hearing loss. For chest pain during sex, stop and get urgent care; tell responders when the last dose was taken.
